Unit 8

It seems that I have determined that the two practices that have been most beneficial for me are the Subtle Mind practice and the Visualization practice. Both of these working together in my life is a wonderful experience.

I chose Subtle Mind because with my life as it is know, I am busy, busy, busy; more like superwoman. Because of my busy life, my mind is also going 100mph. My thoughts are constantly racing, even when I try to lie down at night to sleep. With the Subtle Mind practice, it has taught me to relax mind, body and soul. Keeping my mind clear will help me live a healthier lifestyles so that I can live a longer life. This practices brings me peace and calmness. This is indeed a good feeling when your life worries or stress is no on the top of your list, really great feeling.

When doing the visualization practice, it brought me to a place of happiness and relief. If I can take time each day to sit and take time for myself to make myself feel, is a great place to be. Whenever I'm in a happy place, not only do I bring joy to myself, but others who are surrounding me at that moment. Although this is something that will have to take ton of practices, because of my busy life, but Ill get there. My mood/attitude does affect those who are around me, so if I can bring happiness and positivity to others rather than stress and negativity, I would want to do that with every fiber in me.

  1. Crystal, I can totally understand why you chose the subtle mind practice, as for my schoolwork, subtle mind and meditation are the two that could help me the most. I chose meditation and visualization. Visualization is a big part of my "pre-race ritual". I go through the whole race multiple times before it even starts. I think the happiness you felt from the visualization practice is the positive memories that correlate with this practice. These are all things that I would love to continue working on and learning from.

  2. Crystal I also chose the subtle mind as it was my first really experience with conquering my thoughts (and being aware of it). I am so glad you have gained a benefit from these. I had learned some about meditation from a prior class but this one has really driven home the benefits for me. To quote Forest Gump "That's all I have to say about that."
